Dovetail Farm is a peaceful setting in the middle of busy Marietta. My horse Bit has call this farm home for two years and loves all the attention she gets from the barn manager Kristi and the owners Marian and Ferrell. All three give excellent care to the horses that board here. Always letting you know if your horse is off or has an injury. My horse Bit is very happy in her surroundings. I enjoy the peacefulness and all the sounds of nature that surrounds you while at the farm. The chicken coop is our favorite place to hang and socialize as boarders. I consider Kristi, Marian and Ferrell family. All three have step up for me when I was in a car accident and couldn’t do anything with my horse until I healed from my surgery due to my injury. They were all there to insure that all of Bit’s care was handled and care to my personal needs as well.Marian spent the entire day with Bit when a boarder left with Bit’s pasture mate and left her alone. She sat with her, talked with and care for her until I could get there. Marian was willing to sleep in the barn that night to assure that Bit would be ok.In all all the places my horse has boarded no place has given the care, love and welcome me as family like the barn manager and owners of this farm. Having a national park with beautiful trails to ride on, is also great perk to have. If you are looking for great care for your horse and NO barn drama, this is the place to be...
My husband and I board our beloved horse, Dani, at Dovetail. I cannot express how much we love this place and all the people. When our horse got injured and was on stall rest everyone helped us with her care, and we could not have asked for a better support team. The barn manager, Kristi, and owners, Marian and Ferrell, love the horses and take great pride in what they do and it shows in how well maintained they keep the stables and how happy the horses are. Located just steps away from miles of trails you can't find a better place for your horse!

Marian and Ferrell Nolan are the owners of the beautiful Dovetail Farm. The farm/barn is located adjacent to the Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield Park which has about 20 miles of trails. I have trailered to many parks in Georgia that have horse trails but Kennesaw Mountain is my favorite and it is right outside Dovetail's back gate. There is a limit of 5 horses at Dovetail so they are able to spend quality time tending to the horses and the boarding fee is reasonable. The barn is very nice and is kept so clean you can practically eat off the floor. Marian and Ferrell take very good care of the pasture and the horses are rotated so as not to over graze any one field. They have just replaced all of the fencing, they make sure the buttercups and weeds are removed so the quality of the grass is very good. Kristi, the barn manager, actually lives in an apartment above the barn and takes very good care of the horses. I have learned so much from them about horse care and they truly treat me and my horses like family. I am passionate about my horses and their care and Dovetail Farm shares those family values.

I have been leasing a wonderful horse at Dovetail Farm. I signed a contract for three months to see if the arrangement would work. Would I like the horse? Would I like the facilities, the care, the other boarders and the caregivers? Seven years later I am still there and I love it. Kristi, the barn manager, and Marian and Ferrell, the barn owners, are like family to me. I live near downtown Atlanta (population 6 million). As soon as I pull into Dovetail's driveway, my stress level and my blood pressure drops. The horses are well cared for and seem genuinely happy. I do not need to trailer off anywhere because the barn backs up to some of the best horse friendly trails in the area (Kennesaw National Battlefield Park). I could rave about so much more but some of the other reviewers beat me to it. Thank you Dovetail for taking exceptional care of the horse I have grown to love.

I spent a year a Dovetail before I bought my own horse farm and it was wonderful. Marian and Ferrell Nolan and their entire family are some of my closet friends now and I learned so much from them about horse care. Kristi, the barn manager, actually lives in an apartment above the barn and takes very meticulous care of the horses. They have a limit of 5 horses at Dovetail and they manage the place very well. The barn is very nice and is kept super clean and Ferrell takes very good care of the pasture. He weeds the pasture all the time and even removes the manure from the pasture or spreads it so it will decompose rapidly. The location is adjacent to the Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield Park that has about 25 miles of trails. I have been to many parks it the Atlanta area that has horse trails and Kennesaw Mtn is by far my favorite and it is right outside their back gate. Their boarding fee is reasonable and the attention that is given to the horses and their care is far above normal. I still go back to visit because they did become such good friends. If I did not own my own place I would still be there. If they do have an opening and you were able to board there you could not do better in my opinion. I am passionate about my horses and their care and Dovetail shares those values.

after more than nine years at dovetail farm, I CAN HONESTLY say that if you want the best care for your horse, then dovetail farm is the only place to go in Atlanta. the barn manager, Kristi, is meticulous and compassionate about horse care, turnout, feeding, and health. the owners, Marian and Ferrell, make dovetail a fun place to be. I consider the three life long friends. the other boarders are easy going and like sisters to me. you can ride out the back door into Kennesaw national park and ride for hours. if I had to search for a negative, I guess it would be that the shavings are rather light. but having lived in 5 other cities, I am happiest at dovetail. more importantly, my horse mandy is, too!

Dovetail Farm is a little slice of heaven right in the middle of the city. The barn is bright, cheery, and always clean. The two tack rooms are spacious and have plenty of storage available. The owners are friendly and everyone truly is family here. But what puts this barn over the top is having access to the national park, with miles of trail riding right at my finger tips. This place is a gem!

Gorgeous. Right here in marietta, convenient to everything. They have absolute dedication to caring for the horses. The national park is literally on the other side of the fence and you just ride right on into the most stunning, secret set of huge meadows. I would board my horse here if I owned one!
Dovetail is like a "sister" boarding farm to us. They're the only other facility like us with this gift of DIRECT access to Kennesaw Mountain's 17+ miles of equestrian trails. One of the only boarding farms we recommend due to their superb care, excellent people, beautiful barn and stalls, and well-kept, rotated year-round pastures. A hidden gem in Marietta, just 30 minutes from Atlanta.
